Stuff I’m doing currently.

Inspired by Derek Sivers’ /now and popularised by Patrick Rhone.

Reading

“The Light in the Dark” – Horatio Clare. A journal of feelings of darkness with evocative descriptions of landscape. Written during a previous colder Winter, but somehow appropriate for the one just (thankfully) past, where our demons have been amplified by isolation. I rarely read journals (let alone write one!) and it reminded me of how insightful this form can be.

Listening

I’m rueing my previous comments (see below) about the 2019 changes to BBC Radio 3 Late Junction. The programmes are still a constant delight and with their companion Night tracks presented by Sara Mohr-Pietsch and Hannah Peel, an invaluable source of musical inspiration.

Project

Tinkering with the Raspberry Pi Pico which opens up an opportunity to generate all sorts of hardware protocols via its PIO state-machines.

Autumn 2019

  • Reading*

‘On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous’—OCEAN VUONG

Having read some of his poetry, I was eager to get my hands on his first novel.

Listening

Hoovering up the available eposides of Late Junction before BBC Radio3 apparently decimates the presence of one of the most precious outlets for discovering amazing new music on the channel.

Project

Did a STEAM Ambassador ‘Polar Explorers’ visit to Glan-y-Môr School in Burry Port as part of their transition project for students about to move from Primary to Secondary education.
